Hi, Firstly thanks for all your help with the tyres, I think I will be getting a new set of tyres but I also need to get my arches flared. This means finally putting some serious cash int my car. I think I can spend about £3000 before a custom re-map on the engine. I was just thinking what people would recommend? I would like 350-370bhp. I already have a ported polished head 7A exhaust cam and a full set of samcos. I was going to go RS2 but I would prefer a less laggy turbo.
2871R hmm much surge potential problems if not setup correctly. You'd have to use stock cams with it to get best results.
3071R is allot better for the S2 and 450 bhp on a good setup boost between 2871 and 3071 still better than RS2 and you'll be hard pressed to tell the differnce.
You will need new rods for a start.
An RS2 turbo can bend rods.
A GT3071R will laugh at standard rods if allowed to work it's magic.
Mine is waiting for collection.
Kingdoms are run by Kings, Dictatorships are run by Dictators.
England must be a Country. :mischeif:
A standalone ecu with launch control and anti lag. Custom made throttle body with a soliniod. Huge turbo and that might leave me with enough money to call the bank to ask for more money so i can finish it off a
Really I thought the standard bottom ends were good up to 400BHP?
600Nm is thought to be the limit, although some like to add in a safety margin to guard against any unwanted torque spikes.
400bhp is doable, but the torque will have to kept below the chosen level.
I'm sure something like a GT3071R is useable, but obviously you won't be able to use it to the full at lower rpms. Lag won't be a problem, however, you won't want a huge bulge of torque like you would if you had stronger rods.
